Evidence Never Lies
” I tend not to believe people; they lie. The evidence never lies.” – Gil Grossom
So lets review. I paid for food and I paid for his work on the 2nd. On the 4th or 5th the police came and found my cats without food. They found my dog dead, and no signs of dog food and his 40 gallon water bin empty. One of my cats was so sick he looked dead, and had to be emergency vetted. It took us 4 days to get routed home, and we ended home on Sunday. We got to visit my sick cat in the vet because the vet let us come in Sunday and met us there. My cat weighted between 5-10 lbs less then he did when I left him. He was skin and bones, he was obviously sick, he was completely jaundiced. The vet said he was sick because of a parasite from fleas, and that his kidneys had shutdown most likely from lack of water.
Lack of water.
Something that Ross didn’t even need to go buy, it came from the spigots, granted for a brief period earlier in the year the water was off for a week or so, but the water had been on for well over a month at that point, and Ross was supposed to be visiting DAILY. He was paid FRIDAY, which included extra to pay for FOOD none of which was found by the detectives. And there are photos which the animal control people took ON THE DAY THEY CAME INTO THE HOUSE that prove there was
no food available to the cats.
I sent money to Ross for food. What do we call it when someone takes money that is not theirs? Stealing.
I was paying Ross to visit my animals DAILY to feed, water, clean their litter box, check on them, and clean up any messes. At no point did he represent he was NOT doing that. What do
we call it when people are being paid to do a job they are not actually doing? Fraud.
When I got home it got worse, my computer monitor, and our large house ac, the one supposed to be in the cat area, were missing. Our big screen tv was broken, and there were dozens of expensive items outside like vacuums, our microwave, and
toaster oven. There was feces everywhere and no sign of the litter boxes. There were piles in each area where the litter boxes were but no out line of a litter box which meant they had been removed a while ago. No attempt to clean up, the house was so disgusting I honestly never thought it would get cleaned again. This is not the way we left the house.
The dog was badly decomposed, according to research it takes approximately 2-4 days for a body to give off a strong smell, and in high heat outside shaded from sun completely, about 7 days to get to the point that it is almost completely skeletal. That means, minimally, my dog was dead 3-7 days. Ross lied claiming the dog was seen alive three days earlier, the dog was already causing a strong enough smell the day prior to this claim for the neighbors to call the police. The police believed that my dog was dehydrated to death. A dog does not die overnight from dehydration, even under high heat. It takes days, a minimum of three days. By process of elimination the last time Ross could have possibly checked the dogs water was 5-10 days before the dog died. The dogs water bowl was 40 gallons, and it was located directly below the water spigot. Full it would last 3-10 days depending on heat.
I was never told my cats were thin, sick, or that there were fleas. I was never informed my dog was sick. So Ross either ignored this and purposely didn’t tell me or never saw it because he was not coming and wanted to keep collecting his pay as long as possible.
In the end the damage done by this act will cost over $10,000 to repair. The two vacuums, left outside in the elements for god knows how long along were 400, the microwave another 140. The kitchen was so utterly destroyed from cats pissing in the cabinets because they had no litter boxes we had to replace everything. That will end up costing us over 4,000. The master bedroom carpet was ruined, damage to three walls, and the loss of the tv and monitor and we are looking at a total of 8,000. The dog that was left to suffer by the greedy liar we paid over five grand for. The cats vet bill totaled over two thousand.
